Her career in acting began at the theater. Then she appeared on several television shows as well as independent and mainstream film. The actress was famous for her role as Miranda Shaw (ABC's Quantico) as well as on BET's epic The Book of Negroes. Both series received major praise from critics, and she also received a number of awards. Her debut on stage as Ariel as Ariel as Ariel, The Tempest.
